The death toll will continue to rise because dozens of houses were swept away by subsequent flood. Bad weather impeded rescue operations, as local authorities had to send helicopters to rescue injured people, after a police team didn’t manage to enter the site because of the landslide.
Meanwhile, in southern Japan, some 5,000 people had to evacuate from their home, following landslides and flood resulted from heavy rainfall.
