Lao media spotlights Vietnamese President’s visit
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official friendly visit to Laos made headlines there on Tuesday. Local news highlighted the visit’s contribution to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Newspapers, including Pasaxon (People) and PathetLao (the nation of Laos), quoted Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos, who said President Phuc’s making Laos the first country to visit in his new position shows that the Vietnamese Party and State, and President Phuc himself, attach special importance to preserving and nurturing the relationship.
During their talks President Sisoulith and President Phuc vowed to deepen their countries’ traditional friendship, and agreed to increase visits by senior leaders, speed up the implementation of programs previously agreed, focus more on defense-security cooperation, and create optimal conditions for growth.
PathetLao Daily ran an article on the Laos-Vietnam traditional friendship which declared confidence that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam, reform, national defense, and development will meet with success in both countries.
