Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotou in Tien Giang province

(VOVworld) - Le Thanh Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee says the city will do its utmost to strengthen cooperative agreements between the Vietnamese and Lao Politburos and expand cooperation with Vientiane and Laos’ southern provinces. At a meeting with Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotou in HCM City on Tuesday, Hai congratulated Laos on its achievements, especially its joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and its successful organisation of the 9th Asia-Europe Summit. Yathotou expressed her hope that in the time to come, Ho Chi Minh City will continue promoting experience exchanges with Vientiane and other localities of Laos. Earlier the same day, the Lao leader visited the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang and presented gifts to three outstanding Vietnamese veterans who fought in Laos.
