(VOVWORLD) - Lao has just held a conference on preparations for the organization of the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022.

Bounthong Chitmany, Vice President of Laos PDR, Head of the National Steering Committee on Lao-Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year Celebration, said 2022 is a special importance year for Laos and Vietnam.
The two countries will jointly celebrate the 60th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962-September 5, 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation (July 18, 1977).
The commemoration of two historic days is of great significance for the two parties, states, and people of Laos and Vietnam to review the special and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam from national liberation struggle to the present construction and development. It’s a great political drive for officials, employees, soldiers, police and all people, especially young people, to understand properly and deeply the Laos-Vietnam relations. The Lao Committee will require branches and localities to organize diverse activities and movements.
