Malaysia’s new PM urges unity to fight pandemic, revive economy
(VOVWORLD) - Malaysia’s new Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Sunday called on the people to believe in the new government and unite to help Malaysia fight the COVID-19 pandemic and revive the economy.

He made the statement during his first appearance on national television and social media.
Mr. Yaakob thanked King Al-Sultan Abdulah and the people for their trust.
He called on all lawmakers and parties to set aside their conflicts and do their best for the good of the Malaysia family.
He said he will invite opposition leaders to join the government's special committees to address the COVID-19 crisis, and is seeking to stabilize politics in Malaysia after years of turmoil.
