(VOVWORLD) - Maneskin, representing Italy, won the 65th Eurovision song contest, which was held in Rotterdam on Saturday night.

Rock anthem Zitti E Buoni and fierce leather outfits earned lead vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi, and drummer Ethan Torchio a total of 524 points, beating France and Switzerland to the top spot.
Maneskin's rock song is unlike the kitschy pop Eurovision is known for, but their singer said their popularity showed the contest also looks at musical quality.
It's the third time Italy has won the Eurovision contest.
Eurovision 2022 will be held in Italy.
