(VOVworld) – Professor Duong Ngoc Hai, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology told a conference in Hanoi that the study of marine geophysics plays an important part in a marine economy development strategy. The conference summarized and introduced studies of marine geophysics by Vietnamese scientists and discussed means to promote marine study until 2020, with a vision towards 2030. Vietnam’s marine economy development strategy aims to raise GDP from its marine economy to one third of the national GDP by 2020. The exploitation of marine resources, including oil and gas, has been identified as a driving force to boost economic growth.
