McKinsey report: Vietnam among outperforming emerging economies

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam was classified as an outperforming emerging economy together with 17 other nations.

A report by McKinsey Global Institute released at the World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN) in Hanoi last week, classified outperformers as those having achieved or exceeded real annual per capita GDP growth of 3.5% for the entire 50-year period, or 5% over the past 20 years.

8 outperformers in Southeast Asia are categorized into 2 groups: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand as long-term outperformers, and Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar as recent outperformers.
