Measures sought to improve Vietnam’s participation in UN peacekeeping activities

(VOVWORLD) - A seminar on “Enhancing Vietnam’s capacity in implementing UN peacekeeping activities” was held in Hanoi on Friday.

The event was co-chaired by Kamal Malhotra, United Nations Resident Coordinator and United Nations Development Program Resident Representative in Vietnam and Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh. Delegates sought measures to find a suitable cooperative roadmap to help Vietnam improve its capacity in participating in UN peacekeeping missions. They also discussed ways to turn Vietnam’s Peacekeeping Department into an international training center for UN peacekeeping activities.
