Meeting to review food safety convened
(VOVWORLD) - The Central Inter-sectoral Steering Committee on Food Safety opened a session in Hanoi to review its performance in the first half of this year and propose tasks for the rest of the year.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, who is also Head of the Steering Committee, asked relevant ministries and agencies to ensure food hygiene and safety for public consumption and export. Mr. Dam said: “We need to apply technology to screen food products available on e-commerce platform. Consumers are encouraged to buy certified products. This is a feasible technical solution to ensure clean and safe products.”
The Committee will boost communications to prevent violations of food safety regulations while strengthening database on food safety and surveillance.
