The change, which will need parliamentary approval, would bar people from Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania from seeking asylum in Germany. The German government is seeking ways to reduce spending for refugees. Germany alone expects between 800,000 and one million asylum seekers in 2015, five times the number last year. Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz has revealed plans for a repatriation program chiefly focused on ethnic Poles in Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Kopacz said 8 million USD will be allocated for the program, but added that a law needs to be passed before the initiative can go ahead.
