(VOVworld) - Vietnam’s Department of Overseas Labour and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) on Tuesday officially opened a migrant resource centre (MRC) in Hanoi. It is a part of the project “Promoting safe labour migration from Vietnam by establishing a pilot information center”, which is sponsored by IOM's Development Fund. Head of Vietnam’s Department of Overseas Labour Nguyen Ngoc Quynh said nearly 90,000 Vietnamese workers go abroad to work each year. The center aims at better managing migration, ensuring legitimate rights, reducing risks and maximizing benefits for the workers. The center will provide information about the labour market and job opportunities in foreign countries, Viet Nam's laws relating to overseas labour, addresses of support organizations for overseas workers, risks of illegal migration, and support for workers after they return to Vietnam.
