NA Chairman urges absolute security and safety for May 23 Election

(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Public Security on Wednesday held a virtual meeting to launch a campaign to ensure security and safety for the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for 2021-2026 tenure on May 23.

Addressing the event, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, who is also head of the National Election Council, urged the public security force to guarantee security and safety for the elections and be ready for arising problems during voting in quarantine areas given the complex developments of COVID-19. 

“Strengthening security and order in all fields, especially in key and strategic positions and border security. More combating of crimes, especially criminal offenses, drug related crimes, cyber crimes to ensure timely response to wrongful views and distortion in cyber space, not letting hostile forces to cause disorder and harms to the election preparation and organization. The whole political system, people and armed forces should be mobilized collectively to protect the election day and each constituency’s voting booth,” said the National Assembly Chairman.
