NA Chairwoman requests thorough preparations for ASEAN parliamentary assembly
(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on Wednesday chaired a session the National Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee of the 41st General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA 41).

Chairwoman Ngan said Vietnam as Chair of AIPA 41 has proposed that the assembly will be held online from September 8-10 in Hanoi.
She emphasized the importance of the preparatory work for the event, from technological infrastructure to logistics, and communications.
The top legislator said “I request close coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations to make sure that the meeting agenda matches happenings in the world and the region. Effort should be made to follow the results of the 36th ASEAN Summit such as the meeting mechanism between AIPA and ASEAN. Vietnam needs to reflect these issues in the meeting resolutions and to play a leading role in pandemic response to achieve consensus and win strong support from other countries. ”
