NA deputies debate Personal Identification

(VOVworld) – National Assembly deputies discussed the draft law on Personal Identification on Wednesday as part of the ongoing National Assembly Standing Committee’s session. The draft law includes 5 chapters and 34 articles with new regulations on personal identification such as the management of personal ID, citizen rights and duties concerning their ID, the responsibility of personal ID management agencies, and banned behavior. Head of the National Assembly’s Committee for Legal Affairs Phan Trung Ly said: “This law is related to many others, particularly the Law on Residence. It has been debated by the National Assembly Standing Committee twice but has not been submitted to the National Assembly because there remain a number of controversial issues.”

The law is expected to be approved at the coming National Assembly session.

The same day, the deputies also commented on the revised Notary Law and the revised Customs Law.
