He said the revision aims to create a breakthrough in digital transformation in Vietnam; serve administrative procedures and provide online public services; and finalize the ecosystem for connecting, exploiting, supplementing and enriching population data.

The revised draft law will apply to people of Vietnamese origin living in Vietnam but their nationality not being determined; supplement the content on certificate of identity and management of people of Vietnamese origin; and regulate the issuance of identity certificates to these persons, Minister To Lam said.

Deputies also discussed the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on exit and entry of Vietnamese citizens and the Law on entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam.

On Friday morning, the National Assembly passed a Resolution on the Law and Ordinance Building Program in 2024, adjusted the Law and Ordinance Building Program in 2023, and discussed the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on People's Public Security.
