NA deputies gather voters’ opinions ahead of year-end session

(VOVWORLD) - Acting President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh on Monday met voters in Vinh Long province to collect their opinions before the National Assembly year-end session scheduled for later this month.

The majority of the voters said they hope the Party and State will continue taking drastic steps against corruption and strictly punish violators. 

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man met voters in Can Tho city who raised concerns about education, social and health insurance, and rural transportation infrastructure. Regarding the fight against corruption, Mr. Man said: "The Party and State have handled a number of corruption cases at all levels. Anyone can be investigated, including members of the Party Central Committee and former and incumbent Politburo members. The effort has been applauded by the public and gained their trust."

Meeting with Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong on Tuesday, voters in Son La city raised concerns about support of policies for beneficiaries, hydropower projects, and land planning.

Ms. Phong said the upcoming National Assembly session will elect the President, conduct a vote of confidence for elected officials, and discuss draft laws.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Party Central Committee's Organization Commission Pham Minh Chinh collected opinions of voters in Quang Ninh province about socio-economic development in border areas and islands, as well as transportation infrastructure upgrades.

Regarding large scale tourism projects, Mr. Chinh said: "The projects will boost local socio-economic and cultural development. The provincial authorities need to see these projects through as soon as possible."
