(VOVworld) - National Assembly deputies asked the Minister of Industry and Trade for solutions to promote exports to benefit from an array of free trade agreements.

Minister Vu Huy Hoang told deputies on Thursday that more trade promotion activities will be carried out with analysis of local market needs to gauge consumption demand for Vietnamese goods. The Minister hails the importance of agricultural exports as they are related to 70% of the population and account for 18% of the national income: “In existing free trade agreements, Vietnam has gained its core interests when partners agreed to open their markets to Vietnamese agricultural products. Partners have granted privileges to agricultural products of Vietnamese advantages, especially rice and aqua products. The Eurasia Economic Union has committed a zero percent import tariff for all Vietnamese aquaproducts and lowest tax rate for coffee, tea and some wooden items immediately after the free trade pact comes into effect.”

Ministers of Finance and Natural Resources and the Environment continued to Q and A session in the afternoon.
