(VOVworld) – National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong received UNICEF Chief Representative in Vietnam Lotta Sylwander in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Ms. Phong said that the National Assembly of Vietnam commits to building a legal system to protect and promote children’s rights. She called on UNICEF to continue supporting Vietnam in legislation concerning child care and protection. She hoped for increased cooperation between Vietnam and UNICEF and the organization’s support to the formulation of Vietnam-UN Joint Plan for the 2012-2016 period. Lotta Sylwander said UNICEF will continue to support Vietnam in child-related issues She hoped that Vietnam will work out more measures to protect and better care for disadvantaged and vulnerable children in society.
