NA’s year-end session concludes successfully

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has underlined that Vietnamese lawmakers have agreed to give top priority to controlling inflation, stabilizing the macro-economy, ensuring social welfare and safeguarding national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Addressing the closing ceremony of the National Assembly’s year-end session on Saturday, Chairman Hung said other major tasks include maintaining political security and social law and order to help turn Vietnam into an industrial country by 2020. The National Assembly passed socio-economic plans until 2015, budget allocation for next year and some important plans on land use. Chairman Hung elaborated: “There have been some changes to improve the quality of the National Assembly session. Resolutions adopted are more specific, clearly defining the assignments, solutions and responsibilities of agencies involved. The presentation of cabinet members’ reports has been abolished to give more time for questions and answers.” Before closing the session, the legislators approved resolutions on lawmaking and supervision on environmental law enforcement, and the Law on Cryptography.
