Deputy Minister of Justice Phan Chi Hieu said the key to balancing Vietnam's economic growth with sustainable development is promoting responsible business practices. He said his ministry has identified three orientations, including fine-tuning laws and policies and increasing the effectiveness of enforcement; and raising awareness of the subject among state agencies, businesses, and the public.

Caitlin Wiesen, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Vietnam, highlighted Vietnam’s candidacy for the UN Human Rights Council for the 2023-25 term. She said the development of a national action plan to promote respect for human rights in the context of business operations would strengthen Vietnam’s commitment as a member of the council.
