A new management method will allow the abandonment of identification documents and their notarization because all personal information will be digitized on the national population database.

Deputy Nguyen Manh Cuong of Quang Binh province said, “I strongly agree with changing residence management from a manual method, using household registration books and temporary residence books, to a digital form. This is a common trend of the IT revolution.”

Some law makers want to postpone the day the revised Law on Residence takes effect. It was initially slated for July 1, 2021.

Also on Wednesday, the National Assembly contributed opinions to the draft Law on the Vietnam Border Guard.
