National Assembly deputies comment on 1992 Constitution revision

(VOVworld) –National Assembly deputies began a 2-day session in Hanoi Wednesday to give opinions on revisions to the 1992 Constitution and a revised land law prior to submitting them to the National Assembly session scheduled for October 21st.

Regarding revisions to the 1992 Constitution, deputies discussed the roles of the Party, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Trade Unions, and economic sectors, and the leading role of the state economy. They also examined a people’s council, a constitution council, and the National Assembly’s rights concerning casting votes of confidence.

Phan Trung Ly, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Legal Affairs, encouraged deputies to express their views on the issues, which he said would help improve the draft revisions before they are submitted to the National Assembly.

On Thursday, deputies will discuss the revised land law, which will impact organizations, individuals, households, and on Vietnam’s economic development and national defense.
