National Assembly Standing Committee convenes 38th session

(VOVworld) – The National Assembly Standing Committee convened its 38th session in Hanoi on Monday. In his opening speech, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said this meeting will focus on contributing opinions to the government’s supplementary reports on the implementation of socio-economic development plans, the state budget for 2014 and early 2015, the 2013 State Budget balance, the practice of thrift, and waste prevention.

Lawmakers will debate measures to achieve this year’s socio-economic targets and comment on the draft revised Civil Code, the draft Referendum Law, and the draft Law on Hydrometeorology.

They will work on the apparatus and personnel of the People’s Supreme Procuracy and the People’s Supreme Court, and government projects on establishing grassroots-level administrative units in Tra Vinh, Hau Giang, Binh Phuoc, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Lieu province.

The session will run through Thursday.
