(VOVworld)- Vietnam Students Association and Quang Ngai provincial youth union have begun construction of a national flag pole on Ly Son island. The 25 meter tall pole heading towards Hoang Sa archipelago indicating Vietnam’s national sovereignty will be completed by the end of this year. Director of Vietnamese Students Support and Development Center, Nguyen Minh Triet, said the construction cost has been donated by students nationwide: “Vietnamese students always turn their hearts and minds to the home country’s sea and island. They wish the flag pole would represent their care for national sovereignty over its sea and islands. The project has been financed and designed by students so that fishermen could see our national flag when they set sail”, said Triet

The project is part of a camping event on students’ contribution to motherland’s sea and island.
