National Press Festival 2023 celebrates journalists’ achievements

(VOVWORLD) -"Solidarity-Professionalism-Culture-Creativity" is the theme of this year’s National Press Festival, which opened on Friday at the Hanoi Museum.

Addressing the opening ceremony Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association said: The festival honors the great achievements and strong development of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press, promote journalistic products, the labor and creativity of journalists."

"It strengthens exchanges and meetings between journalists and the public, encourage the press to perform well its functions and tasks, to meet the increasing information needs of the public, contribute to improving the role, position and prestige of the Vietnam Journalists Association. This is also an opportunity to praise the units, individuals, organizations and businesses that have made contributions to Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.”

The Voice of Vietnam has one of the 87 pavilions displaying Spring press publications and other publications in 2022 and the first quarter of 2023, involving 63 provincial and municipal journalists associations and 60 press agencies nationwide.

Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission applauded the press agencies and journalists who are passionate about and dedicated to their profession.

He outlined future tasks: “Every press agency must be a cultural agency, each journalist must always have a sense of improving his or her own culture, promoting the cultural element in the creation of works. This will contribute to preserving, building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity, uphold Vietnamese cultural values and human strength, strongly arouse patriotism, self-reliance and aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.”

At the press fair, there is an exhibition themed "Old Spring depicted on Tet Newspaper". Awards for reporting on economical and efficient use of energy in 2023 and a photo exhibition “Spring Paths” are launched.
