National Radio Broadcasting Festival to begin in May

(VOVWORLD) - The Voice of Vietnam will hold its 13th National Radio Festival from May 3 to 5 in Vinh city, Nghe An province.

Under the theme “Radio with national industrialization, modernization and international integration”, the festival will feature 257 entries of live broadcasting, reportage, current affairs, ethnic language programs, and radio stories from 63 radio and TV stations.  216 works have entered the final rounds covering all aspects of national reform, including political, cultural, economic, social, national defense and international integration stories. Addressing a press briefing on Thursday about the festival, VOV Vice President Vu Hai spoke of new features in this year’s event: "Ethnic language entries are selected for this year’s festival and more than 30 live programs have registered to participate. They will be broadcast live on provincial and VOV programs. A music and art performance will take place at the opening and closing ceremony on May 4 entitled “Return to Lotus Village” with the participation of VOV and Nghe An province’s artists. “

The jury board is expected to present 17 gold, 47 silver, 84 bronze, and 60 consolation awards across 5 categories of competition. A number of seminars will also be held at the festival.
