(VOVWORLD) - Various activities are underway across Vietnam to mark National Reunification Day on April 30 and May Day.

A flag hoisting ceremony took place on Friday at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai special national historical site in the central province of Quang Tri.
Attending the event, war veteran Nguyen Duy Tan said, "I came back here after 46 years. When the flag is hoisted, I feel happy at heart and proud of being a police officer."
A special art show took place in Ho Chi Minh city, featuring Vietnamese leading artists and classic hits.
The Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Centre is hosting an exhibition featuring 100 photos on the historical moments in Hanoi and Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh city) on April 30, 1975 as well as touching stories and memories from historical witnesses.
