National Steering Committee proposes social distancing measures be based on risk level

(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, on Wednesday emphasized on key principles applied to cities and provinces classified into different risk groups.

Delegates agreed on the classification of Hanoi as high risk, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh and Ha Giang as moderate and other cities and provinces as low risk. Deputy Prime Minister Dam spoke of specific measures applicable to them: “High risk groups must continue to comply with the rule of not gatherings of over 2 people in a place, 2 meters of distance in contact and face mask-wearing. Moderate risk group should not allow gatherings of 10 people or more outside workplaces, 1 meter of distancing and face-mask put on. Low risk groups are proposed to raise the 20 people limit gathering to 30 people or more, 1 meter distancing in contact with face masks put on.”

The Deputy Prime Minister said National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control will review if situations changes and make recommendation to the Prime Minister. Those proposals are made based on epidemic situation and risk analysis in each city and province.
