Participants discussed ways to minimize sexual violence, improve awareness about sexual violence for women and children with disabilities, and to strengthen laws and policies to protect them from dangers related to sexual violence.

Dam Viet Ha, Deputy Director of Hanoi-based Action to the Community Development Center, said: “Sexual violence is quite common for women and girls with disabilities. The difficulty is that disabled women and girls don’t have the capacity to protect themselves and therefore need more  support. We hope the project activities will help them to prevent or deal with  sexual violence, offer training courses, and set up clubs for women with disablities.”
