The exchange and coordination activity also opens up opportunities for both sides to learn and share experiences in sustainable tourism management and development; discuss tourism marketing strategies; and maintain the market and tourism products across the border. These efforts will contribute to promoting the culture and people of the two countries and creating a unique cross-border tourism brand for both sides.

Border tourism has in recent years been developed in Cao Bang. On October 15, 2024, the Ban Gioc-Detian Waterfall Scenic Area between Vietnam and China was put into operation after more than a year of piloting. This cooperation model is seen as a bright spot, an unprecedented model in cross-border economic cooperation.
