No coronavirus infection reported among Vietnamese in South Korea

(VOVWORLD) - No Vietnamese citizens have been infected with the new coronavirus in South Korea, according to the agency overseeing Vietnamese guest workers.

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs reported that more than 50,000 Vietnamese people are working in South Korea. 4,000 of them are in Gyeongbuk province which houses Daegu city, the epicenter of the outbreak in South Korea. 

“There’s been no report on infections within the Vietnamese community in South Korea to date. Labor support centers in South Korea are providing updated information about the epidemic and preventive measures to Vietnamese workers,” Tran Thi Van Ha, head of the communications office of the Ministry’s Department of Overseas Labor, told VOV.
