No new COVID-19 infections reported in Vietnam, 44.2 million cases globally

The total for Vietnam remains 1,172. Vietnam has gone 56 straight days without a local transmission. 1,061 patients have recovered, 35 have died, and no one is currently critically ill.

More than 44.2 million people have been infected with the coronavirus globally, of whom 32.5 million have recovered and 1.1 million have died, according to worldometers.info.

The US leads the world in the number of cases (9 million) and number of deaths (232,000). It is followed by India and Brazil.
