Non-aligned Movement summit opened in Tehran

The 16th Non-aligned Movement (NAM) summit opened in Tehran today/ on Sunday. The Tehran summit can be a center for dialogue among countries to settle the issues in the region by regional nations and governments.  Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran Mohammed Majeed al-Sheikh said Saturday the NAM summit in Tehran will be a "golden opportunity" to resolve regional and international issues. The Iraqi ambassador added that the region is currently facing many developments, including the Palestinian issue, stressing that the meeting should focus on ways to restore rights of the Palestinians. He called on participants at the NAM summit in Tehran to express their resolution to eliminate nuclear weapons across the world.
