(VOVworld) - The Korean Central News Agency, KCNA, reported Friday that leader Kim Jong-un has ordered that Korea’s nuclear warheads be ready for use at any time.

According to KCNA, Kim made the statement while supervising the test firing of a new multiple launch rocket system. He said the only way to protect national sovereignty is to strengthen the quality and quantity of nuclear power and achieve a balance of power.

The KCNA quoted Kim as saying that North Korea will revise its military posture so it can make pre-emptive attacks, underscoring that the current situation has become very precarious.

The Korean media criticized the UN Security Council’s adoption of the US initiative to increase sanctions in response to Pyongyang’s tests of nuclear weapons and missiles.
