(VOVWORLD) - North Korea has condemned this week's annual security talks between South Korea and the US, warning of strong countermeasures.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Saturday quoted Defense Minister No Kwang Chol as saying that any threat to the security of the DPRK will be directly targeted and dealt with in a necessary manner. He added that North Korea will take offensive action on the principle of ensuring security and defending peace by dint of powerful strength.
On the same day, the US military said it was closely working with allies and partners following North Korea's latest ballistic missile launch. A statement from the US Indo-Pacific Command said that the launch did not pose a direct threat to US personnel, territory or allies, but highlighted the destabilizing impact.
