Northern key economic region urged to improve connectivity
(VOVworld) - Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai has highlighted the important role of northern key economic region in Vietnam’s socio-economic development.

At a conference on Tuesday in Hanoi on promoting economic connectivity in the region, Hai said the northern key economic region, which comprises seven cities and provinces is Vietnam’s political, economic, cultural, scientific and technological hub. Its geographical location and infrastructure enables it to support the development of other regions. Mr. Hai said over the years, Hanoi and other northern provinces have strengthened cooperation in trade, agriculture, and healthcare.
Delegates at the conference stressed the need to improve the business environment, and increase inter-region connectivity, attract more Foreign Direct Investment. They said priorities should be given to high-tech and environmentally friendly industries, and investment in developing economic zones.
