(VOVworld) – The Steering Committee for the northwestern region organized a conference on Monday to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector.

The northwestern region boasts great tourism potential

The delegates stressed the need to strengthen the Committee’s role in connecting localities and exploiting tourist resources to expand the tourist market. Mr. Ngo Hoai Trung, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, underlined the importance of raising public awareness of tourism development and service quality: “In addition to upgrading tourist infrastructure, we need to focus on improving the management of the tourist environment and ensuring security and safety for tourists. We need to prioritize high-quality tourist products and tap the northwestern region’s beautiful landscape.”

The delegates also recommended increasing tourism advertisement and promoting ecological, rural, and adventure tours.
