OECD calls for new economic model as the organization marks its 60th anniversary

(VOVWORLD) - The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) always strives to protect the rules-based international order, promote global economic growth, and improve the lives of all people, said OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría, at an online ceremony on Tuesday to mark the 60th anniversary of the OECD.

Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez who is OECD President said the world needs a new economic model to escape the current dual crisis, a model which pays attention to gender equality and multilateralism in addressing the challenges of climate change and poverty reduction. 
In a congratulatory message on the 60th anniversary of OECD, Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked for the OECD’s continued support for Vietnam in restructuring, improving its competitiveness, achieving international integration, and fulfilling its Sustainable Development Goals.
