During the event, Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi, deputy head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs,  briefed participants on the domestic progress in controlling the pandemic. He added overseas Vietnamese have shown their unity and mutual support, saying: “5.3 million overseas Vietnamese have supported each other and raised their image in the world through humanitarian activities in host countries. The government has praised their heartfelt attitude to their homeland and the host countries.”

Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, Phan Bich Thien, said overseas Vietnamese in the world are turning their heart to the homeland with pride.

“Vietnam has been successful in the fight against Covid-19 as the government has done what it preached and put public health and safety before economic benefit. The government has promptly supported overseas Vietnamese and we are proud to receive that source of encouragement to overcome challenges,” Thien said.

The Foreign Ministry will continue to take necessary civil protection measures and support overseas Vietnamese in stabilizing their lives.
