Overcoming typhoon Rammasun’s aftermaths

(VOVworld) – Northern provinces are stepping up efforts to overcome typhoon Rammasun’s aftermaths and stabilize local people’s living conditions. Approximately 5500 households were evacuated to safer places from areas prone to flash floods and landslides.

 Provinces hit by the typhoon was reconnected to the national electricity grid, except for Bac Giang and Lang Son provinces, said Vietnam Electricity Group. The group also pledged to repair and reconnect these two provinces to the national grid as soon as possible.

A total of 11 people were confirmed dead in typhoon Rammasun, according to statistics released at a meeting of the National Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control in Hanoi on Monday. Lang Son province was the hardest hit with 5 people swept away by floods.
