Delegates discussed measures to encourage overseas Vietnamese to use more made-in Vietnam products and expand global distribution channels for Vietnamese products.

Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that during the COVID-19 pandemic, overseas Vietnamese have engaged in trade promotion activities and made Vietnamese products gain a firm foothold in foreign markets.

“We have some proposals for overseas Vietnamese and business communities. First they can help Vietnamese businesses partner with foreign importers to bring Vietnamese products to foreign distribution networks. Second they can work with the National Trademark Program to market high quality and national certified products abroad. Third they can provide market information for management agencies to map out strategies for Vietnamese export products as well as in international trade,” said Phu.

Delegates discussed Vietnamese businesses' trade centers in Eastern Europe, organizing exhibitions of Vietnamese products, developing a consumption network of Vietnamese goods in Thailand, and plans to establish the Vietnam Trade House in Belgium in 2021.
