Pakistan, Afghanistan boost security cooperation

(VOVworld) – Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to establish a joint working group on security following high-level talks held in Islamabad on Thursday.

A joint declaration on the matter was released after the visit of Afghanistan’s National Security Adviser Dr Rangin Dadfar Spanta to Islamabad. The main focus of the talks was security cooperation. The joint working group will comprise representatives of various security institutions. Both sides agreed to hold a meeting in Islamabad on July 3 to enhance security coordination and underscored the importance of coordination against terrorism. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to building a comprehensive bilateral relationship, focusing on an enhanced trade and economic partnership.
