(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has arrived in Hanoi concluding his official visit to India.

During his 4-day visit, Trong held talks with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called on the President of India H.E. Shri Pranab Mukherjee and met Vice President H.E. Shri Hamid Ansari and Speaker of the Lok Sabha H.E. Smt Meera Kumar and met with leaders of major political parties in India. The General Secretary was accorded a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and he laid a wreath at the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. The General Secretary also visited Mumbai where he met the Governor of the state of Maharashtra and interacted with the Indian business community.  Both sides shared common views on bilateral goals in socio economic development and pledged to strengthen cooperation to deepen the strategic partnership between Vietnam and India and peace, stability and prosperity. Both signed cooperative agreements in aviation, science and technology, finance, oil and gas and education.
