(VOVworld)-Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong has welcomed the Singaporean President’s visit to Vietnam, considering it a token of the friendly, reliable and cooperative ties between both countries.  At a reception for President Tony tan Keng Yam in Hanoi on Tuesday, Mr. Trong reiterated Vietnam’s policy to treasure and develop its relationship and comprehensive cooperation with Singapore. He said he hoped that both nations will develop economically and work closer in multilateral forums in the interest of both peoples, peace and stability in the region and the world at large.

President Yam replied that he was delight at Vietnamese achievements in recent years, which have elevated the country’s role regionally and internationally. He added that he hopes Vietnam will continue to make giant leaps in socio-economic development and become a fully industrialized nation by 2020.
