Passport granting supports given to patients with overseas treatment needs

(VOVWORLD) - From next Monday, the Vietnam Immigration Department of the Ministry of Public Security will implement a program to support the granting of passport for patients who want to go abroad for treatment.

Colonel Le Hong Thai, Deputy Director of the Immigration Department in Ho Chi Minh City, told Vietnam News Agency on Friday that the program will be applied at Cho Ray Hospital, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Pediatrics Hospital 1 and 2, and the Heart Institute.

Under the program, when a patient wants to go abroad for medical treatment, the Department’s officials will be sent to the hospital to work directly with the patient’s relatives to determine how to move forward. If the program is well received by patients and their relatives, it will be expanded.
