At the meeting, the Prime Minister said healthcare cooperation has been a spotlight of the Vietnam-France Strategic Partnership. He said Vietnam treasures its health care cooperation with France and the Pasteur Institute in particular, and hopes to make bilateral ties more practical. The Prime Minister asked the Pasteur Institute in Paris to work closely with Vietnamese agencies in medical research, dealing with post-COVID-19 issues and newly emerging infectious diseases, and training for medical workers.

Professor Stewart Cole praised the Prime Minister’s proposal on the vaccine strategy to prepare for the future. He said the Pasteur Institute in Paris wants to work with Vietnam in the health care sector, particularly in vaccine research and health care crisis management.
