Addressing the event, Major Trương Mai Hoa, Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of Vietnam’s Level-2 Field Hospital No.7, reviewed the proud traditions of Vietnamese women and underscored their pioneering role in peacekeeping operations in line with the UNSC Resolution 1325. She reaffirmed the pride, responsibility, and dedication of Vietnamese female soldiers serving far from home.
Representatives from fellow units expressed admiration for willpower of Vietnamese female peacekeepers. They said the event deepened their understanding of Vietnamese culture and allowed them to experience the “soft power” that Vietnamese women bring to international peacekeeping missions.

Captain Muchayeverwa Dhabu, Chief of the Military Observer Section, Unity Sector, the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), praised the efforts being made by UNMISS towards the empowerment of women in various departments.
“Because of the presence of women military observers in our patrols to fight conflict-related sexual violence, we find it much easier to reach the victims. So I would like to congratulate Vietnam on observing this day. Congratulations and happy Vietnamese Women’s Day,” said Captain Muchayeverwa Dhabu.
The celebration also featured a variety of activities, including sharing practical experiences of female peacekeepers in UN operations, musical performances with flute, guitar, and choral singing, and a traditional Vietnamese food exchange that promoted cultural understanding and strengthened friendship among peacekeepers.
