(VOVWORLD) - Twenty-two winning photos of a contest honoring the natural beauty and pride about Vietnam’s border region were announced at a ceremony and displayed at an exhibit in Hanoi on Monday.

The photos were selected from 10,000 entries submitted by 1,000 amateur and professional photographers across the country. 188 outstanding photos will be on display at exhibits in Vietnam and abroad.
Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang said that he believes the organizers will continue to find new ways to promote national borders. He said he's looking forward to more contests which encourage writers, artists, intellectuals, scientists, and young people to promote national borders and its demarcation and management.
