PM applauds journalists for disseminating Party guidelines, reflecting life truthfully

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has praised the active contributions of journalists to national achievements and the fight against corruption and wastefulness.

At a working session with the leaders of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association in Hanoi on Wednesday to mark Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day on June 21, Mr. Phuc extended greetings to journalists, reporters, and editors of all Vietnamese media agencies for disseminating Party guidelines and State policies and reflecting truthfully the social life. He also sent his regards to veteran, retired journalists, who have made great contributions to national journalism and revolution.

Prime Minister Phuc said he hopes that media will continue to be a leading force in protecting national values. He called on the revolutionary media to protect the socialist regime, build a fair, democratic, and civilized country, and preserve national culture.

The Prime Minister called on the media to create social consensus and stronger trust in the Party, and work for interests of the communities and the country.

Vietnam now has 18,000 licensed journalists and 24,000 members of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association.
